Fall Training Series:
Organizing Tenants to Win
See other Fall training sessions offered here.
Housing is getting more and more unaffordable, and one cause of that is landlords who are unfairly hiking up rents over rent increase guidelines. The good news is that brave tenants are fighting back against big, powerful landlords and striking across our city for fair rents. These fights are historic, and we’re teaming up with the York South—Weston Tenants Union to offer a training on the basics of tenant organizing so you can get involved!
Join Community Organizer Peter Nguyen on Thursday, September 14 to learn more about how tenants at 22 John Street in York South-Weston are organizing and how you can support their efforts.
Learn the basics of tenant organizing, the demands of the tenants union, and how you can help. You will have a chance to put your skills to the test by knocking on doors in a local apartment building to talk to residents about their rights as tenants and support their efforts to fight for affordable housing.
