Become a Progressive Champion
Progressive Champions are candidates for Toronto City Council or the Toronto District School Board who are committed to building a more democratic, socially just, and progressive city. Progress Toronto will be campaigning to elect Progressive Champions in key races across the city.
We are asking candidates to answer a questionnaire by 9am on Wednesday September 14, 2022. Responses to these questions will be a major factor in determining which candidates Progress Toronto will support as Progressive Champions.
Our questionnaire includes top issues that we’ve worked on over the last term of council, that the over 1,200 supporters we surveyed highlighted in their responses, and that advocates across the city have been championing.
How we will work to elect Progressive Champions
Supporting Progressive Champions in key races will happen in different ways and the tools we deploy will depend on the race. We will encourage people to donate and volunteer directly with candidates’ campaigns. We will also be running our own parallel campaigns and work with teams of volunteers to get voters to the polls to vote for Progressive Champions. In each of our battleground wards, we will mobilize volunteers to drop flyers, knock on doors, call and text voters, and ultimately to turnout more progressive voters on election day.
