Right now renters in Toronto are being squeezed by unfair rent increases and waiting too long for repairs by negligent landlords. The good news is that brave tenants are organizing and fighting back with their neighbours for affordable and decent housing.
We’re teaming up with the York South—Weston Tenant Union to offer a training on the basics of tenant organizing. They are educating, organizing, and advocating alongside tenants in 10 buildings across York South—Weston, including supporting tenants withholding rent in 4 buildings after their corporate landlord unfairly increased their rent and refuses to make basic repairs.
Come learn from Community Organizer Bruno Dobrusin from the York South—Weston Tenant Union on Tuesday, April 23 at 6PM. He will be sharing his experiences organizing tenants, the power of bringing neighbours together, and how you can organize your own community.
