Knocking on Doors for a Candidate

The municipal election is officially underway and this is our opportunity to support progressive candidates and change who holds power at city hall and the school board. Door knocking (also known as door canvassing) is a key tactic campaigns use to introduce their candidate to voters and to help secure their support for the candidate.
On Tuesday, May 10 at 6PM Progress Toronto Advisor and expert campaigner Janelle Brady alongside Progress Toronto Organizer Donovan Hayden will lead our Knocking on Doors for a Candidate workshop. Join to learn how to speak to people about a candidate you support and how you can persuade people to support them too.
This training has three parts to it. You’re welcome to only attend Part 1 if you’d like but we encourage you to participate in all three.
Part 1: Tuesday, May 10 at 6PM - Online Knocking on Doors for a Candidate training
Part 2: Apply your skills in a volunteer shift - Between May 11 and May 15 we encourage you to practice what you just learned at the workshop by signing up to volunteer and knock on doors for a candidate of your choosing. With the provincial election also underway you can choose either a provincial campaign or a local municipal campaign.
Part 3: Monday, May 16 at 6PM - Online, 45-minute debrief to share how your door knocking went and talk about lessons learned.

This online training will be hosted on Zoom and the link will be provided to those who register.
