Spring Training Series:
Getting Out the Vote for a Candidate
See other Spring training sessions offered by Progress Toronto here
The municipal election is officially underway and this is our opportunity to support progressive candidates to change who holds power at city hall and the school board. Helping to get out the vote of the people who support your candidate is a big part of a winning strategy and it’s never too early to start planning for this.
On Wednesday, May 25 at 6PM expert campaigner Skylar Maharaj alongside Progress Toronto Organizer Yussuf Hussein will be leading a Getting Out the Vote for a Candidate workshop. Join to learn strategies on getting out the vote, how to motivate people to vote, and how to help remove barriers to voting.
This training has three parts to it. You’re welcome to only attend Part 1 if you’d like but we encourage you to participate in all three.
Part 1: Wednesday, May 25 at 6PM - Online Getting Out the Vote for a Candidate training
Part 2: Apply your skills in a volunteer shift - Between May 26 and June 2 we encourage you to practice what you just learned at the workshop by signing up to volunteer and get out the vote for a candidate of your choosing. With the provincial election underway and early voting and election day happening soon this is a great opportunity to practice before voting starts for the municipal election.
Part 3: Saturday, June 4 at 10AM - Online, 45-minute debrief to share about your experience getting out the vote and talk about lessons learned.
