Progress Toronto is excited to partner with the Urban Alliance on Race Relations to offer 7 free, online trainings and workshops for our 2023 Winter Training Series!
Our Winter Training Series is spotlighting the 2023 City Budget Process. This is a big opportunity to advocate for bolder investments in our communities. The 2023 City Budget, released January 10, will be voted on by Toronto City Council on February 14.
Right now, people across our city are struggling more than ever before and the City Budget is where smart investments in shelters, housing, transit, parks, and more will be made. It is where we can choose to invest in the social supports and alternative crisis response services that are proven to work. More police will not make us safer. The City Budget is also where harmful choices can be made, such as service cuts and TTC fare hikes.

Workshops include City Budget 101 with City Councillor and Budget Committee member Alejandra Bravo alongside past City Councillor Mike Layton. Learn how to build power with your story in Olivia Chow’s training and learn how to speak at a government committee with Toronto Youth Cabinet's Executive Director Stephen Mensah and Progress Toronto Organizing Director Saman Tabasinejad.
We offer our trainings for free so that cost isn’t a barrier. If you can, support our work by chipping in $10 to our Training Fund or by donating when you sign up.
